Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio - Mount Union's men's lacrosse team was defeated 13-7 by Wooster on Saunday at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance.
The Purple Raiders (2-4) got a pair of goals from Chris Daley (Wilmington, Del./DuPont) and a single goal from five others.
Collin Peters (Portland, Ore./Sunset) made 18 saves in goal for the Raiders.
The Fighting Scots (6-1) were led by Nate Weltman who scored four goals while Pat McKay added three goals.
Wooster scored the first four goals of the game to take a quick lead in the first quarter. Daley got the Raiders on the board with 1:19 left in the quarter by Wooster responded with a goal of their own to lead 5-1 after the first.
Hogan Harris (Medina/Medina) started the second quarter with a Mount Union goal before The Fighting Scots answered with two goals to make the score 7-2. The Raiders closed the half with a pair of goals to trim the lead to 7-4 at the half.
Wooster stretched the lead to seven with a 4-0 run to start the third quarter and the Raiders could get no closer than five the rest of the way.
The men's lacrosse team will play their next three games on the road starting with a game against La Roche in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Saturday, March 28 at 1:00 pm.
