OBERLIN, Ohio - Mount Union's men's lacrosse team was defeated by Oberlin 9-6 on Wednesday night in Oberlin, Ohio.

The Purple Raiders (3-5) were led by Chris Daley (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) who scored a pair of goals and added two assists in the loss.

Collin Peters (Portland, Ore./Sunset) made 13 saves in goal for the Raiders.

Jack Fabrizio and Nick Lobley lead Oberlin (5-5) with two goals each.

Miles Brooke started in goal for the Yeomen and made six saves in the win.

Oberlin got on the board first with a goal at the 12:47 mark in the first quarter. Mount Union tied the game with a goal from Andrew Dorman (Medina/Medina) three minutes later. Oberlin added another goal to lead 2-1 at the end of the first quarter.

Daley tied the game at 2-2 in the second quarter but Oberlin answered with two goals in the final 3:16 of the first half to lead 4-2 at the break.

Daley pulled the Raiders to within one only to have a pair of Yeomen goals take the lead to three. Josh Bender (Delaware/Delaware Hayes) scored with 34 second left in the quarter to make the score 6-4 after three quarters.

The Yeomen scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. The Raider scored the last two goals of the game to reach the final score of 9-6.

The men's lacrosse team starts their Ohio Athletic Conference schedule at Capital on Saturday, April 4 at 1:00 pm in Columbus.
