NEW CONCORD, Ohio - Mount Union's men's lacrosse team earned their first Ohio Athletic Conference win of the season with a 15-5 win over Muskingum on Wednesday night in New Concord.

The Purple Raiders (4-8, 1-3 OAC) were led to victory by Michael Taylor's (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) five goals and three goals from both Chris Daley (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) and Nick West (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional).

Collin Peters (Portland, Ore./Sunset) played the first half of the game and made six saves while only allowing one goal.

Muskingum (3-8, 0-3 OAC) had five different players score a goal each while Phillip Dappen made 11 saves for the Muskies.

The Mount Union defense blanked the Muskies in the first quarter and the offense put up five goals to lead 5-0 after one quarter.

Taylor scored back-to-back goals to open the second quarter to take a 7-0 advantage before Muskingum's first goal. Daley ended the half with his second goal of the game, giving Mount Union a 8-1 lead at the break.

The Raiders tacked on five goals in the third quarter and a pair in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.

The men's lacrosse team will be on the road again at John Carroll on Wednesday, April 22 for a 7:30 pm contest in University Heights.
