Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's lacrosse team lost its final home game of the season 6-3 to Baldwin Wallace in an Ohio Athletic Conference contest Wednesday at Mount Union Stadium.
The loss makes the Purple Raiders 6-7 overall and at 2-5 in the OAC knocked out of contention for the season-ending OAC Tournament.
Baldwin Wallace keeps its OAC regular season title hopes alive as the Yellow Jackets are 12-2 overall and 7-1 in the OAC.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jake Krone (Hudson/Hudson) had a 19 saves for the Purple Raiders but Baldwin Wallace out-shot Mount Union 48-14.
The Raiders held a 1-0 lead at the end of the first quarter on a score from Grant Elffers.
BW scored three unanswered goals in the second quarter and led 3-1 at the half.
The Jackets continued the scoring in the third quarter with two more goals to extend the lead to 5-1 before Brent Greenberg (Gaithersburg, Md / Quince Orchard) got a goal off a Chris Daley (Wilmington, Del. / Dupont) assist as Mount Union closed the gap to 5-2.
Daley then got a goal as the Raiders got it to 5-3 at the end of the third quarter.
Baldwin Wallace stopped the Mount Union rally with a score with just over 11 minutes to play for the 6-3 final.
