Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's lacrosse team defeated Heidelberg University 14-3 Saturday afternoon in an Ohio Athletic Conference match-up at Heidelberg.
Mount Union's Brent Greenberg (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) and Chris Daley (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) led the Raiders with four goals each. They recorded five and two assists, respectively.
Greenberg scored back-to-back goals in the first quarter to give Mount Union a 2-0 edge over Heidelberg at the end of 15 minutes.
Mount Union outscored Heidelberg 3-1 in the second period, with goals coming from senior Derek Thomas (Erie, Pa./McDowell), sophomore Hunter Holt (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) and Greenberg.
The third quarter saw five goals, four of which belonged to the Raiders. Daley scored three goals in a row, while the fourth goal of the quarter came from sophomore Kyle Adams (St. Catharines, Ontario/St. Francis Catholic).
Greenberg and Daley tallied a goal each in the final quarter, while Adams notched two. Sophomore Grant Elffers (Hudson/Hudson) scored the Raiders final goal of the game with just under two minutes remaining to seal a 14-3 victory.
The Purple Raiders close their regular season 7-7 overall and 3-5 in conference play, while Heidelberg finishes 3-13 and 0-8 in the OAC.
