Box Score WILMINGTON, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's lacrosse team scored a season-high 22 goals in a 22-4 rout against Wilmington in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Saturday at Williams Stadium.
A total of 12 Purple Raiders cracked the scoring column as the 22 goals were most in a single game for Mount Union since April 27, 2013 -- a 25-2 win at Wilmington.
Mount Union got five goals from Logan Gebhart (McDonald, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) and three each from Eli Ciotti (Canonsburg, Pa. / Linsly) and Nick Antram to improve their overall record at 6-3 and 4-2 in the OAC.
Isaac Kinaitis (Uniontown / Green), Clay Barkan (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) and Justin Kroeger (Mentor) all scored twice, while Clay Wagner (Wadsworth), Kincaid Mrakovich (Poland / Poland Seminary), Mark Zusman (Willoughby / Willoughby South), Matt Bisono (Deer Park, N.Y. / Deer Park) and Alex Ellison (Uniontown / Lake) all tallied one goal to complete the Mount Union scoring.
Wilmington got two goals from Justen Shaw and fell to 0-10 overall and in the OAC.
Wilmington got on the board first but a 5-0 Mount Union run to end the quarter made the score 5-1.
The second quarter began with a goal from Ellison and then Ciotti to stretch the lead to 7-1. Wilmington scored again before Ciotti got two more and Gebhart added another to give the Raiders lead to 11-3 at the half.
Mount Union out-scored the Quakers 8-0 in the third quarter with three coming from Gebhart to push the lead out to 19-3. The final quarter saw two goals from Antram and one goal from Kinatis while Wilmington scored one goal for the 22-4 final.
The Raiders got on offense thanks to senior face-off specialist Chris Motter (Hudson), who won 13-of-13 faceoffs while sophomore Kyle Reihner (Scranton, Pa. / Scranton Prep) in goal had one save in the first half .
Mount Union heads back to home to take on John Carroll in a regular season matchup next Wednesday, April 21 at 7 p.m. in Alliance.
