Box Score WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's lacrosse team fell to Otterbein 14-4 in Ohio Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon in Westerville.
The Purple Raiders got two goals from Logan Gebhart (McDonald, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) and one goal a piece from Alek Kungle (Hartville / Lake) and Clay Barkan (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) as Mount Union falls to 6-5 overall and 4-3 in the OAC.
Otterbein got three goals from Nick Asuan and Xander Seal and improved to 9-2 overall and 7-1 in the OAC.
The Raiders held Otterbein to just three goals in the first quarter but were held scoreless themselves going into the second quarter down 3-0.
Otterbein got two more goals until Kungle and Gebhart got Mount Union on the board just 40 seconds apart from each other to bring the score to 5-2. Otterbein capitalized on three more goals to take an 8-2 lead. Barkan got Mount Union another goal with 2:26 left in the first half to bring the score to 8-3 after two quarters of play.
Gebhart got the Raiders the first goal of the third quarter scoring at the 8:23 mark. Otterbein scored with 12 seconds remaining in the quarter.
Otterbein held Mount Union scoreless in the final period while adding five goals.
Kyle Reihner (Scranton, Pa. / Scranton Prep) had 25 saves for the Raiders.
Mount Union returns home hosting Heidelberg in an OAC matchup next Wednesday, April 28 at 7 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
