WESTERVILLE, Ohio-- Mount Union senior Alyssa Kasaris (North Royalton) was named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week (10/24).
 
 
Kasaris had 15 digs and two service aces in a 3-0 sweep of Muskingum on Wednesday. She then battled against another top OAC libero in Blake O'Brien from Wilmington and had a game-high 20 digs in a 3-0 sweep.
 
In the final game of the weekend Kasaris helped the Purple Raiders beat Mt. St. Joseph who beat Mount Union earlier in the season as she had a game-high 24 digs and six assists. On the week Alyssa was served at 41 times with just two errors for .951%.
 
This is the second time this season and the fourth time in her career earning the award.
 
Mount Union heads to the University Heights to take on OAC foe John Carroll on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
